Water shots

Over the holidays I acquired some new gear including aqua tech water housing. First time shooting in the water, it was not to successful but practice always helps. I shot at north on a rainy Monday thinking the water would be empty, to find the opposite. Swimming between the lessons and the crowded line up, I got my fare share of close outs to the head while focusing on the rider . All in all it was productive day in the water. sick as!!!

the sound

Late November gave the peninsula some good swell. As of late the swell has shrank and periods have become long. Here is a couple shots of Pete at the box and, Noah and Reed killing it on some small clean lines.

Couple shots of storms while searching for new waves

5 stars

This morning around 7:00 got the call from Noah to check out the swell report on magic seaweed, to see that it was rated 5 star triple over head. got to the beach to find a crowd in some mediocre waves. The box was dumping a couple barrelsl but the swell was no where close to 5 star. Despite the crowd their were many waves to share around. Although it was not the best lighting, it was the first time we have seen sun in weeks, the storm season has arrived.

back yard pets

With winter in full effect, many of the coastal neighborhoods are noticing many unfamiliar faces rooting around there garbage. If its not a racoon, a dog or a bear their is not much that will stop them from getting what they want. the bear managed to find a crack to rip the shit out of our garbage box. Keep your children inside, to make sure they dont get mauled .

Point Break

Second day we met up with, Noah, Ryan, Rick, Ollie, and Shannon and scored some double over head waves that cleaned up very nice near the end of the day. Surfed for two hours and paddled for about 1:45's of it. The current was so strong that if you stop paddling you will be swept to your car. The boys killed it after 3 hours of surf they would be jogging out for the next one to roll through. Props to Pilsner for the after surf beverage!!

South Island..

with the magic seaweed predicting swell off the charts many of the ukee, tofino surfers headed down to the ole south isle and found some gold. First day Sheldon and I ran into Kye, Janek and Frazer heading down to sombrio. The wind was heavy and the swell was so burgery there was a forest of trees flowing through the break. The 4 had a crazy paddle through the huge over head sets. check it>>>

Day #3

The day started with the two locals Sepp and Noah going against the top seed of the Wqs Adam Melling, Unfortunately Sepp and Noah we knocked out. The waves were small than day two with heavy winds still chopping up the water. The day carried on with more and more heavy's entering the water. The main attraction for local viewers was the one and only Pete Devries. He overcame Dusty Payne and two others to get first place advancing to the next heat. Tomorrow looks like Coxs bay starting out with the heavy hitter Shannon Brown. good luck mate!1

Free surf

After the Contest was done for the day, all the surfers who you didn't see at the contest were at Flo. The word has gotten out and its been pretty consistent in the surf and in the parking lot. The inside north corner was pumping out some punchy left for the last two day and will be the place to go if the wind does not calm down. Even if you are not wanting to surf its pretty sick watching such high skill on waves locals check daily. Check the shots!!!!

CWC Day #2

The cold water classics day two was held at North Chestermans becuase of swell and wind directions. The waves were definitely smaller compared to the heavy storm swell day one had to offer. The Sun was out but the wind took any warmth away that it had to offer, but the compition was going early. The day went quick with a couple unfortunate results first round of heats was over.
Round two starting at 9 oclock with Noah and Sepp should be a good one
